kamakiri subdomain

kamakiri subdomain get

kamakiri subdomain get
$ kamakiri subdomain get
my-site.kamakiri-pages.jp  ✓
$ kamakiri subdomain get
my-site.kamakiri-pages.jp  ✓

The ✓ means the address serves the site as configured and the last change has finished. A disabled subdomain shows (disabled) after the address. Without the ✓, a change is still landing, and a rename in progress also names the address still being served and what it is waiting on.

kamakiri subdomain set

kamakiri subdomain set <new-subdomain> [--no-wait]
$ kamakiri subdomain set new-name
Renamed: new-name.kamakiri-pages.jp
$ kamakiri subdomain set new-name
変更しました: new-name.kamakiri-pages.jp

The old address stops working, so links to it break. The new one serves once the change lands. A name another active site holds is refused, including one held by another site on your account: only kamakiri init offers to adopt that site.

kamakiri subdomain disable

kamakiri subdomain disable [--no-wait]
$ kamakiri subdomain disable
Subdomain disabled: new-name.kamakiri-pages.jp is no longer serving.
The subdomain is still reserved. Use "kamakiri subdomain enable" to re-enable.
$ kamakiri subdomain disable
サブドメインを無効にしました: new-name.kamakiri-pages.jp は配信を停止しました。
サブドメイン名は引き続き予約されています。再度有効にするには "kamakiri subdomain enable" を実行してください。

Use it when the site is served at a domain of its own and the kamakiri-pages.jp address should not be public. Custom domains keep working. The disabled address answers with a Kamakiri not-found page, as does the address of a site that has never been deployed or has been torn down. Every such address gets the same page, so it does not reveal whether the name is taken.

kamakiri subdomain enable

kamakiri subdomain enable [--no-wait]
$ kamakiri subdomain enable
Subdomain enabled: new-name.kamakiri-pages.jp
$ kamakiri subdomain enable
サブドメインを有効にしました: new-name.kamakiri-pages.jp

With a canonical custom domain set, the address redirects to it with a 301 again. Without one, it serves the site’s content.

Waiting

set, disable and enable wait until the change takes effect, with no time limit, on any terminal. --no-wait returns once the request is accepted. Ctrl-C stops only the watching: the change carries on, and kamakiri status shows where it got to.
